Once upon a time..

Haven't posted in while... been busy.. working, kids, working, sleeping, etc.

Well I did get the job at Boot Barn.  It is only part time for the time being, but there is a chance, though be it a small one, that I might make it as the Assistant Store Manager.  I don't know anything for sure yet, and it might be a few weeks before I know anything at all.  I like it there.. the shifts are long shifts -  6 - 8 hours depending on the day.  The hours are great.  How many retail places do you know that close at 6pm on a Saturday??

So between work, and going to the gym, and the incredible amount of pain I have in my left heel, I've been staying fairly busy.  By the time I get home I don't want to do much of anything, except for housework (which my darling husband has been a big help in that) and I know come June my free time will be that of doing homework.

But, alas, there has to be someone out there that is pissed off that I don't contact them as often as they think I should.  This time, that some one is my father.  I want to give a brief history of the past year, and let you decide the real reason why I don't like to contact him.

June 2012:  My husband, myself, and 2 kids move in with him because we were let go from the army and had no where else to stay.  Dad offered his full support and his house to us. (or so we thought) His wife, not so much.  The first 24 hours we were there, she laid down the rules of the house, like we were fucking 16 year olds.  Mike tries to file for unemployment, but the state of New Mexico said that we wouldn't see a red cent for up to 4 months because we are former military and that's just cause for an IRS Investigation against us.  Mike told NM to kiss his ass.  I agreed with him.

July 2012:  I finally found work at a really bad place (Kaufman's West in Albuquerque, NM)((DON'T EVER WORK THERE.. They treat their employees like shit.))  Most of today's job searches is on the internet.  You can't just walk into a place, demand a job, and walk out employed.  Try telling that to my father..   My stepmother turns into even more of a psycho bitch about (get this) doing laundry.  I wasn't allowed to do laundry on Fri-Sat-Sun.  So when I did need to do laundry on those days, I took it to a laundry mat or my friends house.  She got pissed that I did that.. Keep in mind that we are still living out of suitcases for our clothes and our kids' clothes.  (Our 3 bedroom house is in boxes in a storage unit)

August 2012:  Mike lands a full time job at Pinkerton   Kaufmans West is getting sketchy because the "Operations Manager" is a complete bitch you gets off on making people feel inferior to her, and she obviously sucks off the owner cause she can do no wrong in his eyes.  The owner is a complete douche bag too.  Dad and Charlene disappear for a week to North Dakota for some mindless trip, and refuses to make sure we have food in the fridge.  There was no food, so I had to go into delinquency on my Jeep payment in order to feed my kids.

September 2012:  Charlene (step mother) decided to drink liquid courage (beer) and got herself drunk enough by 10pm to try to tell me and mike off.  The topic:  unemployment benefits.  They were pissed that we didn't file for benefits so they couldn't get their hands on any money.  Charlene then throws down the gauntlet and says we have until Oct. 31st to be out or she will throw us out.  (Keep in mind that while we were there, we cleaned the house everyday, made dinner every night, kept the kids busy as much as we could, didn't ask for money, paid the bills we had with our OWN money, etc)  So instead of my father standing up for his daughter and grand-kids  he bows to her wishes, and then threatens my husband with his fist waving in his face saying, "You're going to get what you deserve!!"

September 15, 2012:  We moved out.  We went to Goodwill and were able to have them pay for our rent for 2 months and all of our utility connection fees, and rental deposit money.  (About $2700).  We had no food, and most of our shelf food was bad after sitting in a hot storage unit for 2 1/2 months.  I quit Kaufmans and Still had a $500 vehicle payment to make, along with $100 insurance, plus school expenses for my daughter, and gasoline and food.  We ended up going to a food bank for help.

October 2012:  I get hired on at Lane Bryant.  Things are going okay for us.  Dad is still watching the kids for us when I work, and I use his truck when I need a 2nd vehicle.  Charlene began bitching about that and suddenly the truck and the babysitting wasn't so available anymore.

November 2012:  I began making contact with my mother who was estranged for several years.  She agreed to start watching my kids while Mike and I worked.  My brother took his own life on Nov. 5th, 2012, and I knew the reason why I got back into contact with my mom then.. to help her through it.  She gave us my brother's truck for a second vehicle, so I wouldn't have to rely on dad's truck anymore..

So now, I get a call from my dad last week asking why I don't call him.  He thinks it's because I am friends with my mom again, and it has nothing to do with that.  It has everything to do with him not standing up for his kids/grandkids, and treating us like shit when we were at the bottom of our rope.  It's because his bitch of a wife doesn't like us.  She treated my youngest daughter like shit the whole time we were there, and tried to make my oldest feel like she was better than her little sister, while screaming at us to not play favorites (which we never played favorites - both my kids are brats.)

Maybe the reason why I don't contact him is because when I asked him if he was okay with mom giving us my brother's 1997 truck cause we NEEDED a second vehicle, he replied with "It depends" instead of "Yes, I have no problem with it.  You needed a 2nd car."  It has nothing to do with my relationship with my mother..

So I sit back and wait for karma.  I get so pissed because of how he is now, and the bitch of wife he married.

Wow. that's was a long post.  I guess I needed to get it off my chest.  All I know is that he has taught me how not to be with my kids.. not to use them as pawns to get back at an exspouse, or to promise to help them only to turn out to be a bastard with his head so far up a bitch's ass.  The phrase "Dance Puppet, Dance!" comes to mind on the way my step mother controls him.

Sad.

I definitely have bigger balls than that.  In fact, my balls are so big, God put them on my chest to prevent chaffing.

I'm out - until next time.

And we're off!...

.. err, rather, I'm off...

..and not mentally "off" at this point...

The interview I had yesterday manifested itself in to a job offer today, which leads to paperwork and initial training tomorrow..

The Place:  Boot Barn.
The Offer:  Full time employment.
Wages:  not sure yet.. will find out tomorrow.

My last job paid $10/hour at about 20 hours/week.  So I'm up for anything.. Minimum wage here is $8.50/hr, so even if I get that at full time hours, I'll make at least or even more than what I was at Lane Bryant.  But, I have manager experience, and the boss at Boot Barn told me some secrets about the business, and I doubt I will be a typical "associate" for long.  I told them school is first, and they have to work with me.  I also told them I have to have the first Saturday of July off. I'll make sure to get that in writing tomorrow.  I've learned many lessons when working at Lane Bryant.  The store manager loved to screw me over every chance she got.

The hours aren't bad.  They're open M-F 9am - 8pm.  Saturday 9am - 6pm.  Sunday: 11am - 5pm.

So, here's what I get to look forward to:

Going to the Gym 3 times a week.
Working Full Time.
Starting School Full Time in mid-June.
Full time homework.
Two Full Time Kids
Full time housework/family work

I think this scares my mom.  I know she is concerned with everything that I am getting ready to push forward in.  But, I'm not afraid.  I have the drive to do this.  I like having a full schedule.  And by me finally having a full time job, it gives Mike a breather in case his work forces him to take time off.. or if he wants to take time off.  I talked to my kids today about the schedule change.  They understand that if they want to continue doing fun things, and getting things they want and need, that both mommy and daddy have to work.  My oldest knows that by mommy and daddy going to school means that we can get better jobs and be able to have a better schedule.  We made a new deal with my oldest, and she agrees to do chores for an allowance. Now that I'm working, I can afford to give her an allowance.

On a side note, I want everyone to know that my ass hurts.  Mike and I went to our first gym visit today, and I only did 35 minutes on the bike, but my god, my ass hurts!!!  Next time we will do cardio again, and then upper body.  I have to get rid of these bat wings.

And with that, I'm off.. to take aleve..  I refuse to put bengay on my ass.  That would burn.

ciao.

Room For Improvement

Job hunting sucks. Job hunting really sucks when everyone is asking for at least an associates degree and doesn't bother to look at work experience.  So, what am I supposed to do?  Go to school.

So I enrolled at ITT Tech.  (YES I KNOW it is a "for profit" school, but in reality ALL COLLEGES are "for profit"..  hello?!  notice all the tuition rises? So don't preach about how "for profit" is a rip off.)  I'll end up getting an Associates in Criminology and Forensics and a Bachelors in Project Management.

Okay, so school is underway.. beginning in June.  I also read how employers tend to "legally" discriminate against with bad habits.. Smoking and being over weight are the main two bad habits they look at.  Well, I quit smoking about 10 years ago, and now it's time to get the fat off.  So, I joined a gym - planet fitness.  I get to work out with my husband.  We both have 50 pounds to lose.  I'll lose it first.

Finally, room for improvement on my cell phone.  I have to quit putting it in my back pocket.  It fell out when I was eating dinner tonight, and it hit just right and shattered my screen.  Luckily I had insurance on it, and my new phone will be here on Wednesday.

So with that, I am off to bed with a headache.

Pissing Contests

Ever been in a pissing contest?  Ever watched a pissing contest?  Of, course not literally because if you were in an actually pissing contest, well, that's just gross.

I keep hearing a certain family member bitch and complain about money issues.  How broke he is, how he doesn't have enough to buy groceries, and how he has to pay thousands of dollars in taxes.. So I though I would come up with some money saving ideas for him.

1.  Tell your wife to stop "keeping up with the Jones'" (pissing contest)
2.  Tell your wife to stop getting hair cuts, pedicures, and manicures every week. (It's not doing any good.)
3.  If your wife is complaining about her gaining weight, LOSE some. In the end, she'll eat less, thus saving $$$.
4.  Don't go to the casino every week.
5.  Don't go on 3,000 miles, round-trip, vacations cause your wife wants family reunions three times a year.
6.  Don't cheat on your taxes.
7.  Don't go the museum of art in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
8.  Stop Smoking
9.  Get a job.
10.. Open your blinds to let light in so you don't have to have lights on during the day.
---
This blog was brought on by my bitch of a stepmother..
My family and I had the wonderful pleasure of having to live with them for 2 1/2 months while we transitioned out of the military and into civilian life looking for jobs.  She treated my 4 year old like shit, while treating my 9 year old like the goddess of the world, while telling us to not play favorites with our kids (which we don't!).  Then, she gets drunk (liquid courage) and tells my husband that he is a deadbeat video-gamer, and then tells us that we have 1 month to get out of her house.

Now mind you, we were looking for jobs everyday we were there (minus Saturdays and Sundays).. Nowadays, jobs are posted online, and many say to NOT contact the company.

During the little drunken episode from the bitch, my dad adds his two cents in by saying, "You're gonna get what you deserve."  Damn straight we are.  I expect to win the lottery anytime now.

Well, come to find out that we aren't good for her fucking family.  We already new this a few years ago when my dad invited us to Thanksgiving dinner in Montana, and my step mother was pissed that it wasn't all about her and her family (again with the pissing contest).  The family was at my dad's house last week.  I live 1/2 mile from my dads house.  Were we invited?  Were we told that they were there? NO.  Which is fine, because it saved me coming up with an excuse not to go over there.

My children are afraid of the bitch's dog (pit bull that she swears isn't one) and they are afraid of the house in general because while we were living there, they were eaten alive by sugar ants and bed bugs.  The bed bugs made their way over to our new house, when I got rid of in a matter of a week.  They do not open their blinds, and always have to have lights on inside cause it's dark.

So, in a nutshell, don't bitch to me about money problems.  I've been unemployed for 2 weeks, and I have enough worry as it is.  And if the bitch of a step mother reads this, then oh well.  No fucks shall be given!

I'll try to make the next post funny.  This issue has been brewing for a few days.

Hail Eris!

In the beginning. . .

Ok, yes, I know.. yet another blog from the friendly redhead down the street.  But seriously, this venture is not of my own.. it, instead, is an idea from the friendly bald man that the friendly redhead is married to. (Please stop the hysterical laughing about my use of "friendly."  For those who know me best truly understands my friendliness, and therefore should be THANKFUL that they are not dead.)

Apparently I say some pretty crafty things during day to day life, (either that or really dumb things) and my husband says I should document them all on a blog called, "The World According to Liz."  Now the pressure is on to be articulate, intelligent, beautiful, and wise all the time so that I can properly display the world as I know it.  Either that, or to say, "Fuck it!" and point out all the useless and useful people/animals/gadgets/etc that I encounter in this thing called life.

So, here is your one and only chance to read the warning label attached to this blog:

1.  My viewpoints are my own.  Don't like it, don't read it.

2.  I am very talented in the use of cuss words.  It's an art form, really, and I display them as art. Very Colorful Art.  Please refer to warning number one.

3.  I reserve the right to make fun of anyone, including myself.

4.  I reserve the right to make you laugh so hard, you fart.

5.  I reserve the right to piss you off so bad, you fart.

6.  I reserve the right to call you out on your gaseous state and make fun of your farting.

7.  I reverse the write to have as meny typos as i want.  You will reed it and liek it.

8.  I encourage you to comment.  If I pissed you off, SAY SO.  If you agree with me, SAY SO.  If you wish to pay me money, I will provide you with an address to mail a check to.

So there you go.. you get the idea.  That, and I'm damn tired of trying to think of catchy little rules for you to live by.  So, from now on, MAKE YOUR OWN RULES, then live by them.

Hasta la vista, baby.
